If so, Rider's Edge® is the course to teach you how! The Rider's Edge® New Rider Course provides hands-on instruction that will make your motorcycling dreams a reality and give you the confidence that you need!

The New Rider Course combines class time and ride time to give you the basics of operating a motorcycle. An expert who is certified by both the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® and Harley-Davidson teaches the course providing you with skilled instruction in a fun environment.  Courses are taught on Buell Blast® motorcycles which are mid-sized bikes that are easy to handle and a "Blast" to ride. 

The idea behind the New Rider Course is simple: provide a safe and fun introduction to the art of motorcycling, and help all motorcyclists improve their skills. When you complete the five-day course, you receive a completion card that usually waives you from the riding portion of the Texas state motorcycle license test, and may entitle you to discounts on your insurance.

The Foundations
The five-day New Rider Course uses the proven curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's New Rider Course, with special twists provided by the enthusiasts at Harley-Davidson and Buell.

The Information
You'll learn in the classroom through discussion, interaction, personal experience, and practice what you learn on a real motorcycle on our riding range. All the basic riding skills are covered, including straight-line riding, turning, shifting and braking, as well as advanced riding techniques and safety strategies to help you deal with the open road. Extra practice time on the range is built in to help you master necessary skills.

The Bike
You'll ride the all-new Buell Blast! A 492 cc mid-sized bike that's easy to handle and operate. It's a blast to ride!

The Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old and able to ride a bicycle. You'll also need proper footwear, eye protection and a helmet.

The Cost
Your $219 tuition covers all course material, use of a Buell Blast! and insurance to cover you while you ride the Blast! on the practice range. You'll even receive your own "Road Book," a Rider's Edge exclusive! The experience is priceless!

What You'll Need
For the New Rider's Course, you will need a valid automobile driver's license or learner's permit, and have the ability to ride a bicycle.  For the riding portion of the class, you will need to bring:

• A helmet that meets DOT requirements
• Full length jeans, chaps or leather pants
• Over-the-ankle, sturdy footwear
• Full-fingered gloves
• A heavy, long-sleeve shirt or jacket 
• Eyewear
